Last week St Claire residents enjoyed a city tour, which took in The Shrine of Remembrance, a circuit of the Royal Botanical Gardens and a chance to convene on the Yarra River.

The Yarra has played a pivotal role in the pre-European history and the modern development of Melbourne. To the original Wurundjeri people the river was known as Birrarung – ‘River of mists and shadows.’

Residents waved frantically at passing water craft and rowers while marveling at how much the city skyline had changed.
