A Saint valentine’s Day poem from one of our dear residents, Maria Drago.

Maria is 102 years young and has been composing poems for many years.

Maria has featured in the Assisi Notizie magazine over the years and most recently, along with

another Assisi centenarian, Eufemia Porta, was the subject of a story in Il Globo newspaper.

San Valentino, tu sei il grande
Protettore degli innamorati
Quanta felicita` nell’innamorarsi ed essere giovani
Stringere e baciarsi
Con tanto amore
Pure noi si vorrebbe ancora
Ma tutto questo, non ci resta a pensare
Che quel bel amore
Non puo` ritornare
Anche se preghiamo San Valentino
Di poterci aiutare
San Valentino, dormire
Con due teste in un cuscino.
