The Matildas recently sent the nation completely bonkers.

They united us in ways that go far beyond sport.

Last week we ran the Australia versus England semi-final of The Women’s Soccer World Cup, for our residents, live on the big screen in the auditorium. At most of our sports telecasts the male residents greatly outnumber the females. Interestingly, on this occasion, the ladies outnumbered the men by four to one.

In the semi – final, The Matildas fell short at the penultimate hurdle but this wasn’t just about the game – this was about being part of a defining national moment!
