What’s On in December

The Christmas season is fast approaching and no doubt a busy time for everyone .

This is definitely the case at Assisi when the entire place is transformed to reflect the season.

Residents will be involved in a revolving door of activities and events in December.

Among the usual offerings of tombola, walking groups, in-house theatre and our own version of ‘10 pin bowling’, residents can look forward to many outings and activities which have been organised for them.

On 2nd December a visit to Abbotsford Convent for afternoon tea. 4th December we will have Laurel’s Christmas Concert to get everyone into gear for the Christmas season. A picnic lunch on the banks of the Yarra on 5th December. How about a relaxing cruise on the Yarra on 16th December, taking in the sights of Melbourne, or stay in for the mellifluous sounds of the men’s choir.

One of the highlights is the annual Christmas luncheon for the residents. Chef Andrew prepares a wonderful meal with all the trimmings. Residents will be serenaded as they enjoy their lunch and I hear that there will be a visit from a jolly fellow in a red suit!!!!

As if that wasn’t enough, the next day they’re off to the beautiful Botanic Gardens for a leisurely stroll.

A special treat for the residents and families will be when one of our volunteers, Sophie, will present a slide show looking back at 2014. Family members are welcome and encouraged to attend- 2.45pm, Friday 19/12/14 in the theatre room.

Other outings will include a visit to the Italian Museum at CoAsIt in Carlton and a visit to Edendale Farm in Eltham.

A busy month indeed culminating with ‘happy hour’ on New Year’s Eve!

Ciao
